Belfast Causeway Tours – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all bookings, services, and use of the website provided by Belfast Causeway Tours ("the Company", "we", "our", or "us"). By making a booking or using our website, you ("the Client", "you", or "your") agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
 

1. Bookings and Payment

1.1 A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

1.2 The remaining balance must be paid by the agreed due date or, for short-notice bookings, at the time of booking.

1.3 Failure to pay the balance on time may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of any deposit paid.

1.4 Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, cash (subject to deposit), PayPal, and card payments.

  • PayPal and card payments are subject to a 7% processing fee.

  • Cash payments must be made in full before the journey commences.

1.5 Any transaction fees or card charges are non-refundable.
 

2. Vehicle Standards and Substitution

2.1 All vehicles are cleaned regularly inside and out; however, external cleanliness may be affected by adverse weather conditions.

2.2 The Company reserves the right to substitute any booked vehicle with a similar or higher-class vehicle where necessary.

2.3 Where required due to operational reasons, the Company may use approved third-party operators to fulfil bookings.
 

3. Waiting Time and Additional Charges

3.1 Waiting time charges apply as follows:

  • £55 per hour (E-Class / S-Class vehicles)

  • £60 per hour (V-Class / MPVs)

3.2 A grace period applies:

  • 10 minutes for standard pickups

  • 20 minutes for airport pickups (from flight landing time)

3.3 Clients are advised to allow 45 minutes after flight arrival for airport collections.

3.4 Car park charges up to £5 are included. Additional costs due to delays (e.g., late flights, baggage delays) are chargeable.

3.5 Any additional stops, diversions, or return journeys (e.g., forgotten items) will incur additional charges.

3.6 Any damage or excessive soiling caused by passengers will be charged at a minimum of £100.
 

4. Pickup, Access and Safety

4.1 Clients must ensure that pickup and drop-off locations are safe and accessible.

4.2 Drivers reserve the right to refuse access to unsafe areas (e.g., narrow lanes, overhanging trees).

4.3 In such cases, clients must meet the vehicle at a suitable alternative location.
4.2  Incidents & Accidents 

While every effort is made to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our tours, participation is undertaken at the customer’s own risk. Belfast Causeway Tours, its owners, employees, agents and independent driver-guides shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury, accident, illness, damage or delay arising from events beyond our reasonable control or from a participant’s own actions while on tour. Customers are responsible for exercising reasonable care for their own safety at all times and for following any guidance provided by the driver-guide. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

5. Conduct and Refusal of Service

5.1 The Company operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive, threatening, or intoxicated behaviour.

5.2 The driver may refuse or terminate service without refund if a passenger’s behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
 

6. Tours and Itineraries

6.1 All itineraries must be agreed in advance and may only be altered with Company approval.

6.2 Tour durations are estimates and may vary by up to 45–60 minutes due to traffic, delays, or circumstances beyond our control.

6.3 Clients must arrive on time. A 15-minute grace period applies; failure to arrive within this time may result in a missed tour with no refund.

6.4 Tour pricing excludes (unless stated otherwise):

  • Attraction entry fees

  • Parking fees

  • Meals and refreshments

6.5 A minimum 45-minute lunch break will be scheduled at the driver’s discretion.

6.6 The Company is not liable for missed stops due to:

  • Late client arrival

  • Excess time spent at individual locations

  • External delays beyond our control

 

7. Cruise Ship Tours

7.1 Clients must disembark promptly and meet at the agreed time and location.

7.2 The driver will wait a maximum of 15 minutes after the agreed pickup time or gangway opening.

7.3 Failure to meet within this time will result in a missed tour with no refund.

7.4 If a cruise ship cannot dock, a refund will be issued minus an administrative fee (minimum £150 or £25 per person).
 

8. Cancellations and Refund Policy

8.1 Non-Cruise Bookings:

  • More than 14 days’ notice: 100% refund (excluding fees)

  • 14–7 days: 50% refund or credit note

  • 7 days – 48 hours: deposit retained (credit may be issued)

  • Less than 48 hours: no refund

8.2 Cruise Ship Bookings:

  • More than 14 days: full refund minus fees

  • 14–2 days: 50% refund or full credit note

  • Less than 48 hours: no refund

8.3 Shared Tours:
Refunds are only provided if the Company can replace the booking. If cancellation affects tour viability, no refund will be issued.

8.4 Refunds are not automatic and must be requested. Claims made after 14 days will not be honoured.

8.5 Where original payment methods are unavailable, alternative refund methods will be arranged.
 

9. Company Right to Cancel

9.1 The Company reserves the right to cancel or modify bookings due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:

  • Vehicle breakdown

  • Driver illness

  • Adverse weather

  • Emergency situations

9.2 In such cases, the Company will offer an alternative service or refund where appropriate.
 

10. Website Use and Intellectual Property

10.1 All website content is the property of Belfast Causeway Tours and is protected by copyright laws.

10.2 The website must be used for lawful purposes only.

10.3 Users must not misuse, damage, or interfere with website functionality.
 

11. Privacy Policy

11.1 The Company collects personal data for booking processing, communication, and marketing (where consent is given).

11.2 Information collected may include name, email, phone number, and booking details.

11.3 Data will not be shared with third parties unless required by law or necessary to fulfil services.

11.4 The website uses cookies and analytics tools to improve user experience.
 

12. Marketing and Photography

12.1 The Company may use photographs taken during tours for promotional purposes without compensation.
 

13. Allergies and Special Requirements

13.1 Clients must inform the Company in advance of any allergies or dietary requirements where relevant.
 

14. Email Marketing

14.1 By subscribing, you consent to receive marketing communications. You may unsubscribe at any time.
 

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1 The Company shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses

  • Missed flights, connections, or events

  • Delays outside its reasonable control

15.2 The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the booking.
 

16. Late Payment Fees

16.1 A late payment fee of £60 per week will be applied to overdue balances.
 

17. Governing Law

17.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.
